Learn to fly model helicopters
We're here to help you learn how to fly your model helicopter!
Our skilled instructors can increase your flying skill level, whether you are completely new to the hobby or have gone as far as you can on your own and need guidance as to how to progress to the next level.
If you are new to the hobby, or have flown before but you have not taken your BMFA A and/or B helicopter certificates, we are happy to help you achieve them and then to progress as far from there as you would like to go.
We are based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
The buddy box system
We will teach you how to fly using our our own equipment. We use a "buddy box" system which enables us to give you as much or as little control of the trainer helicopter as you need, but also, perhaps more importantly, it allows us to rescue the helicopter very quickly should it get a bit out of shape under your control. This method of learning can save you a lot of money on repair bills if you were to try and learn to fly alone.

We offer a short introduction for people new to the hobby to simply come along and try it out for themselves without the major investment up front. For a one time fee of £20, we will give you an introduction to the world of model helicopters and a good 15 minute taste of actually flying a model helicopter.
Learning to fly
Regular lesson charges are £35 per hour, which includes all equipment and fuel required for the lesson. All you have to do is turn up!

Our available instruction slots through the summer cover evenings and weekends, when instructors are available. To check the availability of our one hour lesson slots, please contact us using our contact form in the first instance.
Block bookings are accepted, although we would prefer to meet you first to asses your skill level. Having done that, we can then advise you of your best and most cost effective options for learning and progressing your helicopter flying skills.
